Terry Davis was a computer genius who had debilitating mental illness in the form of schizophrenia, and lived at home with his elderly parents for most of his adult life. At some point, he became an atheist for about a decade but returned to the Catholic faith. He built his own operating system called Temple OS, which was supposed to be the Third Temple, complete with an oracle program. I don't know much about computer programming, but apparently it was a monumental feat; someone equated it to "building a functioning skyscraper using hammer and nails". Terry eventually was removed from home and became homeless, first wandering around in a van, and then on foot. He was able to complete the OS despite having no dwelling place.

I was introduced to Terry Davis by 4chan (don't go there, you have been warned, serious warning) which is a site I used to spend countless hours of my wasted youth. At first I laughed at his ramblings and racist remarks, then I was fascinated by his journey as a homeless person, but then I came to admire his faith and trust in God despite the darkness surrounding his mind and the dangers surrounding his being. His videos were half ranting, half sermon, all struggle, connecting dots that seemed unrelated, reading devotions and bible verses while on the road to somewhere... the videos provided me comfort in the time of loneliness, alienation, and disability, and they were also convicting to my heart in that he loved God, who was very visibly merciful and gracious in my own life. I saw a gifted man who was crippled by a thorn in his mind, but his heart was for God. Terry was a shining arrow that pointed towards the Lord in the wasteland that was my soul. So I thank God, and I thank Terry, who was sent to me through the worst channel. His videos are scarcely palatable to the average person due to profanity, but for me who was cursed, it was just what I needed.

Phillipians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.

Rest in Peace
